The Starkville Aldersgate United Methodist Church was organized in June, 1960 when a small group of people met under a pecan tree behind the Sudduth Elementary School in North Starkville. We took our name from Aldersgate Street in London where John Wesley, who started the entire Methodist Church, felt his heart 'strangely warmed' at a prayer service. Since our formation over forty years ago we have been known as the church with a warm heart.
